Beware the Calliope
Clowns are a surprisingly new terror, at least compared to the other things that go bump in the night. Turned from comedy to killers in the '80s, one of the scariest versions wouldn't appear until American Horror Story introduced us to Twisty. This guy understands how to weaponize joy, how to turn bright colors into a threat, and this officially licensed Twisty the Clown American Horror Story Costume lets you bring that character's creepiness right to your Halloween scene.
Layers of Latex, Layers of Dread
The transformation begins with the latex headpiece, which features a sublimation-printed distressed finish and attached wig fibers in dark green, burgundy, and olive gold. Over it sits the double-layer latex half mask: a base layer worn against the face, a decorative second layer attached on top, and a black elastic strap holding it all in place with hook and loops dot fasteners. Together, they recreate Twisty's iconic, hollow-eyed look with eerie precision.
The Costume That Makes the Carnival Wrong
The white polyester broadcloth shirt anchors the outfit with a multi-layer ruffled collar, gathered cuffed sleeves, and three yarn pom poms in red and yellow running down the front. Red grosgrain ribbon trim edges the raw seams throughout. The matching pants gather at both waist and ankle with elastic, and the ankle hems repeat the ruffled cuff detailing from the shirt.
What the Bag Is Carrying
A white low-shine satin bag with horizontal red ribbon stripes and a red braided cord handle completes the five-piece set. It mirrors the distressed, sublimation-printed finish of the clothing, so the entire look reads as one cohesive, unsettling whole.
