What are everyones favorite Halloween traditions when you were younger. I would love to hear them!!

It has to be the memory of me and my family sitting around the dining room table with a box of art supplies, making decorations for the windows of my parents old farmhouse.

My grandma would always make a scarecrow and put him on the front porch. I remember getting my grandpa's old jeans and flannel shirt and helping her stuff them with newspaper and straw. Good times.

These are great! My mom would get a huge pot and make homemade rootbeer for us with the dry ice (so it looks like witches brew) I can't even remember if it tasted good but the effect was really special.

My favorite chilehood memory is when the farm stand at 111th and Central park would put the pumpkins out on display. My favirite Hallowen tradition, to this very day is carving Jack O'Lanterns.

making home made decorations and masks are a couple of favorite traditions for me

There are two other Halloween traditions that I really love. Carving jack o'lanterns and my midnight Halloween motorcycle ride.

Not so much when I was young but up till a few years ago, when my good friends moved out of town, we would throw an awesome bash at their house. We did this for about seven years straight. Two or three days before the party a bunch of us would get together and have a mini-party while carving up to about a hundred pumpkins. We'd listen to scary music and old radio plays while drinking, eating and carving. You could always tell which pumpkins we carved later in the night, they came out pretty sloppy [HICCUP].

You could always tell which pumpkins we carved later in the night, they came out pretty sloppy [HICCUP]. hahaha yea the year before last my dad and i sat down and had a few while we carved many a pumpkins we own a ten acre farm out in Beulah Alabama where every year we grow 10 acres of pumpkins its so much fun .. we let a couple of the elementary schools around here bring a few classes and let the little ones pick out a pumpkin for like 5 cents a piece its really fun.. they used to be free but the kids just LOVE paying something like mom's and dad's do so we charge them a nickel for any pumpkin they pick after that, what ever pumpkins aren't sold at the markets we take and either cook them into what ever (the seeds too! pumpkin seeds are great) or they're carved into a many a jack-o-lanterns

Mt. Greenwood Park use to have some pretty awesome Halloween parties, complete with a free 'spook house.' I went to that all the time, right up until we moved to New Lenox.
I don't know if they still do that or not any more.

It's pretty great, now I do all that but leave for the festival around 7pm and stay on stand-by with the Fire Department guys (the fire hall is about 200 feet away from the fair grounds where the festval s held) incase we get a call.
