My thoughts begin to turn Halloween-ward after early August, when both my sons celebrate birthdays. But I think people who do elaborate yard haunts have to start thinking much earlier than that.

I've purchased several houses and buildings for my Department 56 Halloween village. This is an expensive hobby, but so much fun to do!

I've decided on the theme for my Halloween party this year, which will be the Witch's Ball. How I'm going to execute the theme I'm still working out. This year it looks like some friends will be bringing their children. I've always had adult only parties, not so much because we did anything of an adult nature, but because I don't relate well with children. And of course at this rate, with people bringing their kids, I'll never get to the Satan's crazed orgy theme. LOL.

Hmmm... I haven't heard yet if we're gonna have a big Halloween party but either way I'm gonna have to think about doing a pumpkin carving party in my back yard. It would be a nice change of pace to actually have it in a pumpkin patch. The pumpkins I planted on the ground are taking over the rest of the yard.

I like the Witches Ball idea! I'm thinking blue or green lighting, and a big cauldron of brew..like garbage pail punch with dry ice. Crazy music like from the 'Haunted mansion" organ, and some fog?
Nevermore, how many pumpkins do you think you will get?

I usualy get the Halloween "bug" when I see all the Halloween merchandise in the local stores. It's very likely I'll start seeing Haloween decorations and the like in as early as 2 weeks.

I'm always leery of dry ice, especially now that they're be children around, but I may look into getting one of those misters that work with water.

I did actualy look through all my Halloween decorations, believe it or not. It was raining last Sunday in the morning and I was bored, so I thought I would alleviat that boredon by testing all my lights and the like, and everything still works great.

One side grows a little too thin. And I'm not sure it's gonna grow long enough for my Nostradamus costume. I mean of course there's no way it will get as long as his by then. I'm just hoping it will be satisfactory.
