Anyone working on it? We've gotten started on our Arabian nights theme, but we're kinda dragging. Usually, by this time, we are in medium to full swing. We are going for this look: http://s50.photobucket.com/albums/f323/ ... lace-1.jpghttp://s50.photobucket.com/albums/f323/ ... eEntry.jpgWe constructed a frame of pvc to frame our front yard. I had purchased 75 yards of lightweight material that we hung from the pvc frame. The front opening of the tent will be at the sidewalk, with the backdrop (picture 2) up against the front porch. We have a HUGE pvc section about 15 foot high and about 12 inches in diameter that we are thinking to mount in the middle of the front yard to attach the 'roof' of material too. Just draped material that goes to each side of the yard 'frames'. Although it wil be right in the walkway, we're thinking about doing something like this http://s50.photobucket.com/albums/f323/ ... RTmZ-M.jpgaround the pole Thinking fishing string with light weight lanterns hanging. If you remember, my front yard is oblong like this http://s50.photobucket.com/albums/f323/ ... ure207.jpgCan ya see it? Can ya see it?

We're not doing anything elaborate like you are, and I haven't started on anything yet. I am, however, thinking of re-tooling one of my displays. My "ghost dance" has always been rather shabby, because I made it from throw-away stuff, milk jugs and trash bags, etc. I want to upgrade it with styrofoam balls (for the heads) and actual material. Unfortunately, styrofoam balls of the size I need are rather expensive--$13 apiece, and I'll need six of them.

I don't know what size you need but this might help. http://www.save-on-crafts.com/styrofoamballs.html

Instead of styrofoam, have you considered using anything else? I was thinking along the lines of a childs rubber ball..they are about 12" in diameter, and you could probably get them for $2-$3 a piece.

I planted pumpkins. Does that count as halloween prep? The first vines I laid down started blooming yesterday morning and looks like the bees did their job and pollinated one of the mama flowers sometime yesterday.

Here's a pic of the first pumpkin to be. I'm gonna be a proud papa.

Lovely!! I miss having a garden. Just have been too lazy/busy to have one, and now in the throngs of summer in Phx, its not going to happen until about November..lol

Started cutting out the pattern for my costume tonight-- I finally have everything I need to make it. Also have a stockpile of that grey hair dye-spray stuff. ... and... first time I ever planted pkins. Whee! The vines are about 3 feet tall and taking over the yard.

Well I really don't know what to say. Once again I planted a pumpkin patch, and once again it was devoured by all the plant eating critters that have taken over the town. At any rate, I will be looking for some additions to put up inside the house come July when some of the stores start selling Halloween Merch.

I'm growing a beard for my costume. Why waste money on a fake looking one when I can have the real thing?

I'm looking forward to the day when genetic sequencing is perfected so we could grow another head for our costume if we so choose.
