Maybe I'm just a rude jerk myself, but I don't get whats wrong with the ad. Sure it's kind of offensive, but I don't see the big deal.

The "big deal," is that this guy went on line, and very rudely asked everyone who lost both legs, to be a part of his Halloween costume. My late brother lost his foot to diabetes, and if he were still alive today, I'm sure he would be incensed by such an advertisment. "He all you amputees out there. Here's your chance liv down to stereotypes and use your deformity to be part of my Halloween costume." I'm sure the ad didn't read in so many words, but that is definately what's implied. Now if this guy knew some one with both legs off, and they agreed to do that because they know each other, then that's another story. My brother actualy had a wooden leg made for himself so he could dress up as a pirate for Halloween, but that was his choice, and he didn't do it in response to some adversitment aimed at guys with prostetic devices.

I'm with you, I dont think its a big deal either, but I have both my legs so maybe if I didnt I would feel different, but as it is now, I dont see the big deal

Well just the same, I would never place an add like that.

It all depends on how you look at it.

Like I said, there are a lot of amputees who have a sense of humor about their situations. My late brother allways use to joke about how he "didn't have a leg to stand on," but nobody eles ever cracked such a joke lest they be thought of as a big jerk. There are also a lot of people who are very bitter and depressed about losing limbs, NOT TO MENTION that many of our war heros lost legs and arms fighting for our freedoms. So I just don't think placing an addvetisment like that is a very cool thing to do.
