Well, that really does sound pretty bad (so why am I laughing?).
When it comes to art, how things are done usually matters more than (or at least as much as) what is being said. That's just the way it is.
I've never seen this movie, but, for the record, I have seen a number of religious films, particularly several different ones about the life of Jesus. And some of them aren't very good. The quality varies greatly.

Well, when dealing with the horror genre, one will always come across religion. Religions provide us with interesting subjects of good versus evil, monsters, demons, devils, etc. i.e - The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby, and the list goes on and on. What I have a problem with is when film makers proselytize hot-point issues without a shred of originality. Then, to top it all off, they screw up their own mythos and hamstring it. And last but not least, among the seriousness of their subject matter, they add comic book elements that just make it ridiculous.

Dead Snow sounds like one I could skip (not into rivers of gore). And Dead Girl seems a little too weird. BTW, the link above this one, about Kevin Costner, didn't work for me--

That is such a cool language to listen to--check out Troll Hunter  Dead Girl would probably distress me too. Torture is not my cup of tea. It also kinda sounds like one of those movies that plays like a nightmare that you can't wake up from. The Kevin Costner link didn't work for me either and I HAVE to read that one. I'm really enjoying your reviews Nick and I love that you rate them in Mummies  . Keep them coming!

WTH is Kevin Costner doing in a horror flick? That's why I needed to read that. Is he going the way of Cuba Gooding Jr, as mentioned in one of Nick's earlier reviews?

I haven't heard much about Costner in recent years. He had quite a run in the '80s & '90s, but I just don't hear about him much anymore. I guess he made a bundle, and I think he bought a ranch or something in one of the mountain states. I guess he stays pretty far from the epicenter of Hollywood. However, there are others who do that (Robert Duvall lives in rural Virginia, for example), and yet they remain more active professionally. And Duvall is older than Costner.

I think people finally figured out that Kevin Costner sucks Not to mention there are plenty of others out there that can do the same thing he can and probably ask for less to do it.

I can't recall ever having a strong reaction to Costner, one way or the other. He made a few movies I liked, back in the day. I might still pull out Field of Dreams, or Bull Durham, or even his Robin Hood, occasionally.

Okay given that Murf listed THREE of Costner's movies that she can stand, I had to look up just how many he has starred in. IMDB has 48 titles listed for him as an actor. 3 out of 48...Ouch. I think Murf is just too polite to say, "yeah, he kinda sucks" She's a better person than I I will admit though that I really liked The Upside of Anger but it had nothing to do with him
