Sorry to hear about that Spooky. I had to put down our German shepherd Buck a few years ago because of a snake bite to the throat. One of the hardest things I've done.
Last night I was at a bar with a few friends. A buddy and I happened to head to the bathroom at the same time, so we carried on a conversation while he wash washing his hands. Of all the times I decided to not wear jeans and cowboy boots (I wore shorts and sandals), the bathroom door rushed open and splits my left big toenail from my foot. Effing excruciating, man, especially when they poured vodka on it to sterilize it. That face to the left was how I looked for a while.

Spooky, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your pet. It must have been very frustrating that you all were trying so hard to figure out what was wrong with the dog, but just couldn't do it. Our beloved cat Alice died one month ago today. I do miss her and I think always will, though we have other pets. But these animals who share our lives do become part of us forever.
Our 14-yr-old dog stopped eating over a period of a couple of weeks before she died in 2009. That is not so unusual when they are approaching death. It is odd, though, that the vet couldn't figure out what was wrong with yours. Ours had cancer.

Thanks everyone, my wife is pretty torn up about it.
I was not with my wife at the vet, I was at the chiropractor because I tore up my back at the job I just started, I just got that job and my back decided to go out my third night of work. It wasnt anything I did especially, it just decided to go out that night. Unfortunately, I had to call off the other night (yes of a job I just started) because I cant bend, twist, pick anything up, walk, etc etc. So, now I have to go to the Dr., call off work and might get fired all because of a back that seems to have a mind of it's own. And what really sucks, I kind of liked that job, it wasnt too hard, people are nice, the work is fairly easy......sheesh....This sucks, if we lose our dog and my job (that wasnt easy for me to get for certain reasons) in the same week...life is going to get very bad.......

Sorry about your bad luck lately Spooky. I've been on a pretty lousy run the last year too. All I can say is keep your spirits up. Vodka is my spirit of choice right now.
Now I'm sad because I gotta to go to bed. Have to be up at 5am. No more time to read the board.

I know I'm sad b/c I have no time to be around here so often, not really.... too much work to do, too much busy to do so... I am always being here almost everyday and nite too! Family feud all the time, so they will be out of here anytime in December or January 2012.

Tough go with your toenail, Castle. Ouchie! Heal up quick!
So sorry to hear about your Lab, Spooky. My sympathies to you and yours.

I'm about to go barter with the lady from the city on how much money they're gonna give me to replace my household. I'm sad because I know the city is notorious for giving pennies on the dollar. I'll stand firm though.

My car is in the shop for a steering issue (mainly, it doesn't) and new tires, and a warning light.

I just called my buddy because I saw Home Depot had large pumpkins pretty cheap. His girlfriend wants me to carve display jackos for a pumpkin carving contest the weekend before Halloween. I told him she may want to buy now in case the shortage catches up. He said she just ordered 600 pumpkins yesterday. My reaction was "I'm not carving 600 pumpkins in one night!", then I remembered it was a carving contest.
I'm actually sad because I may have to work that weekend and won't be able to be a judge.
