I don't have a big sweet tooth anymore but I like my Halloween treats, whether they are cookies or cupcakes or candy, to look like Halloween treats. I want the Halloween packaging on the candy, Halloween colors and shapes on the cookies and cakes. Otherwise it just doesn't feel as fun.

I'll go along with that. Taffy apples are my favorite Halloween treat, too.

A perfect Halloween treat for me would be a bowl of popcorn, a cup of hot spiced cider, a caramel apple, and maybe a few pieces of chocolate candy.

I like the corn candy, but I am not passionate about it. Taffy apples, and the BRACHS "Milk Maid" carmels are also an important staple in my Halloween treats repituar.
POP CORN BALLS!!!! How could I forget. Back in 'the day," the pop corn balls my neighbor use to make were actualy better than taffy apples. But event he store bought ones are pretty good, when I can find one.

I don't think I have ever had a popcorn ball. Are they sweet? Is it just a wad of popcorn held together by some kind of candy?

You can find recipes all over the 'net. The ones I used to see were probably made with corn syrup & marshmallow cream.
I was never a huge popcorn ball fan, because I like my popcorn salty rather than sweet. But they were very, very popular. I think you see fewer of them nowadays, just because people have been schooled not to give out homemade treats. You know, everyone is mistrustful of home-made stuff from strangers. But they used to be very common at Halloween, and would still do well at a private party.

Mine would probably be Ginger Bread. I only really eat it around this time of year & have ginger bread cookies as pumpkins, skeletons, ghosts, bats etc. YUMMY!
