Old people like Andy get grouchy when they miss their afternoon nap.

I've caught a few Shadow People on film. Legend relates that these entities are not friendly. It may be going too far to suggest that they're demons, but what is a demon?
Youre messed-up kitchen is a remarkable tale. I've heard very little of Shadows being able to manipulate physical things.

Was the Shadow you saw wearing a hat??

I know that sounds like a strange question, but so many of them seem to.
I've also heard of them calling your name. Usually the voices involved are like that of a woman, or a child, very rarely do the Shadow voices sound male, even if the Shadow Figure appears to be male. These voices typically come from behind you and are up higher than a normal human would stand. Has anyone at you relative's mentioned having their name called? Have you yourself had any experience like that.

The unusual thing also is that these voices and manifestations seem to rarely happen at night. You would think that night would be the most obvious time, but late afternoon seems more prevolent.
The things you mention sound like a typical haunting, but not a friendly one. Do you feel the figure is deliberately trying to frighten you? They can't hurt you in a physical way, but folklore suggests that these entities can harm you by draining energy and causing depression and sickness. The most common image of the crone would be a haggard old thing riding your back and sucking the strength out of the back of your neck.

There are two way of getting rid of these "vampires."

1) Go to a cross roads on foot. When you get to the crossing, turn around rapidly three times. Turn in the direction of the Earth's spin, counter clockwise in the N hemisphere, clockwise in the S hemisphere. Crones and shadows have a natural affinity for crossroads. They'll let go of you there and get confused as you turn. Walk quicklly away.

2) This cure comes from ancient Mesopotamia.
These entities are atracted by decomposition. Place a piece of meat on a small plate and let it spoil. Once the meat has "ripened" it will attract the crone to it. Quickly cover the plate with a bown to "trap" the spirit. Without uncovering it, take the plate and bown and bury them at a crossroads. Be sure to turn around three times to confuse them, as you leave. Walk away, don't drive.

Hello. The shadow figure we saw was without a hat. It seemed as featureless as a wooden artists dummy. As for depression and energy drain... yes to both. The place was terrible. I hated being there. Those who lived there changed drastically, and the situation ended badly. The house is no longer there. Oh, and yes to voices. Though most of that activity was to do with one individual.
