The Duchess was dancing in the street with 1000's of other people at mardi gras, and because of the huge crowds he couldnt see the open manhole cover in the street, he fell to his death at 11:26pm.

Spookymufu was also at Mardi Gras and was accidentally rolled over by a float. I myself was saved because my hoopskirt was so big I didn't go all the way down through the manhold. Castle slips on a banana peel and knocks over a broom. The broom falls over and hits a bowling ball sitting on the shelf, the ball rolls off the shelf onto the wooden floor which scares the cat and causes it to go running out of the room. While running into the other room the cat gets tangled up in the cord of the lamp, pulling the lamp off the table. The lamp falls off the end table and hits a book hanging over the edge of the coffee table. The book flies through the air and hits the picture hanging on the wall. The picture slides down the wall and hits the switch to the ceiling fan, turning it on. Unfortunately the cat had jumped up there to get away from the madness. The cat is flung off the fan and lands on the dog's back with it's claws fully extended. The dog yelps and goes running through the doggie door knocking the cat off as he does so. The dogs sees the open window in the car and jumps inside to hide, hitting the shifter as he does so and knocking it into neutral. The car rolls down the drive which the neighbor kid is about to cross on his bike. The kid swerves and hits a tree, startling a bird which has roosted there. After the car crashes into the mailbox, the dog jumps out and starts chasing the bird, which flies right into the electrified fence surrounding the house. This causes a power surge knocking out the closest transformer in turn tripping breakers at the power substation. The sudden power drop causes an overload at the local nuclear power plant causing the reaction to go out of control. The people inside the control room get irradiated and turn into flesh eating zombies. They break out of the power plant and quickly overwhelm the town. The zombie outbreak spreads across the state and then the country. While trying to escape, a plane takes off for England not knowing a zombie has stowed away in the wheel well...
Oh yeah, Castle doesn't see any of this because he broke his neck when he slipped on the banana peel.
